Drunken Street Sweeper
A 51 year old Sydney man was charged with drink driving over night after crashing his street sweeper in to the back of a Nissan Navara 4WD and pushing in to a street sign, knocking it flat.
Police were called to the scene and found the driver inside the street sweeper. He was subjected to a roadside breath test and recorded a reading of .149 - he admitted to consuming several beers and a glass of wine before starting his shift at midnight.
Of course his licence was automatically suspended.
Stories like this make our day! Most people should be aware that consuming several beers and a glass of wine only a few hours ago means it won't take a breathalyser to know you're well over the limit.
As an employer though it might be worth while checking your street sweepers before they get behind the wheel, with an accurate fuel cell breathalyser from Alcosense
