Alcohol and Productivity

Alcohol is a depressant; it slows brain activity and responsiveness, even at a level of only 0.030% BAC.

This can create all manner of problems in the work place, especially if you're working hard to hit those targets or your deadline is closing in fast.

Obsessive lateness, absenteeism, poor performance, unnecessary accidents or damage to facilities and worst lack of trust or faith in the employee to effectively do what they have been employed to do.

As an employer not only do you want everyone performing to their best but the OH&S Act requires you to provide information, instruction training and supervision to your employees and to monitor their health and safety; ensuring they are not affected by alcohol in a way that may put themselves or others at risk.
